I have grown a dependable company over the past three decades and I run a 10 person crew to accommodate any size job, commercial or residential. But truth is, I was born and raised in Traverse City, MI, graduating from Traverse City High School (Now Central High School) in 1984. A month before graduating, I started painting my first house. My Dad helped me quote it….It was a “scraper”!! I immediately learned how to prep, repair and re-build those weathered/damaged areas. I did the whole exterior myself-complete. From there I did two more projects next door to the house I was working on. Little did I know, this was the start of my business!

The truth is, painting was a way for me to pay for college. I worked and went to school full-time, earning an Associates Degree in Business Administration from Northwestern Michigan College and my B.S. in Business Administration from Ferris State University in 1989. By this time I had three employees and was well established in my hometown.

Our heritage is focused on the repaint/renovation side of the business; this is the majority of our work. Although we do new construction work from start to finish, our attention is on the existing project. From re-staining an existing house, to additions/remodel projects to re-finishing decks, we’ve seen or done almost any type/style of work.

I’ve always believed it’s important to learn and educate myself as well as our painters. I’ve been to a couple of our Industry’s “Leadership Institute” programs, other state’s training programs and two National Conventions which all focus on education people, changes in products, safety, licensing, etc… We have a National “Safety/Fall” program in place for this reason.

Our pre-finishing facility works together with our field work where we paint/stain doors, siding, trim packages, furniture, etc. We deliver to the job site from our shop for quicker turn-around time!!
